STATTFINDEN (taking place) was an intervention and an experience, based on a process with two components: a physical installation on the side of the fake ruin of the Ilm River Park, and a round table with local artists and independent cultural producers.
Weimar is a city that lives on tourism with a focus on the heritage of German Romanticism (Goethe and Schiller), and the population of Weimar is living the consequences of more than 15 years of being European Capital of Culture in 1999. The city park on the river Ilm is untouchable (it is a protected heritage site recognised by UNESCO).
In this context, the project parasites protected heritage to host processes of reflection on the urgent present. What kind of agendas can independent initiatives focused on contemporary art and culture promote?
A non-place of dialogue and encounter is generated to foster new ideas and scenarios to confront tradition and the established city brand.

STATTFINDEN (tener lugar) fue una intervención y una experiencia, basados en un proceso con dos componentes: una instalación física a un lado de la la ruina falsa del Parque del río Ilm, y una mesa redonda con artistas locales y productores culturales independientes.
Weimar es una ciudad que vive del turismo enfocado en la herencia del romanticismo alemán (Goethe y Schiller), y su población de Weimar vive las consecuencias de más de 15 años de haber sido Capital Cultural Europea en 1999. El parque de la ciudad del río Ilm es intocable (es patrimonio protegido reconocido por la UNESCO).
En este contexto, el proyecto parasita patrimonio protegido para albergar procesos de reflexión en torno al presente urgente. ¿Qué tipo de agendas pueden impulsar las iniciativas independientes centradas en arte y cultura contemporánea?
Se genera un no-lugar de diálogo y encuentro para fomentar nuevas ideas y escenarios para hacer frente a la tradición y a la marca de ciudad establecida.
