// participatory painting + relax and rest space //
Passerby and festival assistants were invited to paint the word “antighetto” on a camouflage pattern fabric (160 x 520 cm). This proposal was made as part of the art festival in the Diversity Fair context. This fair was a citizen campaign targeted to explain gay, bisexual and transsexual rights.
The “antighetto” concept ask for a critical conciusness on the ghetto condition of LGTBIQ* communities at the time in Lima. The campaign ask for a no ghettoized society, full of respect to the diversity.
The fabric to paint, mimic the flags used in protest, but here as a workshop space inviting passerby to “construct” an antighetto consciousness. On the ground aside, carpets and plastic mattresses with camouflage patterns, allow and invite passerby to take a rest, dialogue and take a view to the square. Ephemeral architecture in an open public space intervention.
